This Privacy Policy explains how Selican AI Powered Marketing (“Selican,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit selican.ai and related pages, call or text us, chat with Pete (our AI assistant), take our quiz, fill out a form or use our services.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, business name, email, phone and mobile number, ZIP code, mailing address.
- Business details: trade, revenue range, call volume, marketing budget, timeline and similar answers.
- Quiz answers and your Marketing Health Score.
- Messages you send through forms, email, text or chat.
- Reviews you submit, and whether you give permission to publish them.
- Your consent choices, including text-message consent, with the date, time, page and wording you agreed to.
Information from calls and chats
- Calls and chats with Pete may be recorded and transcribed. Recordings and transcripts are used for quality, booking and service.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring site and campaign (UTM) parameters.
- Cookies and similar technologies, described in our Cookie Policy. Analytics and marketing cookies run only after you consent.
- Website visitor identification. If you accept marketing cookies, a visitor identification pixel may try to match your visit to a person or business using data from identity partners. We do not run it if you reject marketing cookies or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
2. How we use information
- To respond to you, run your audit, book appointments and provide our services.
- To follow up about our services by email, and by text only where you have given the required consent.
- To improve our website, Pete and our services.
- To secure our systems, prevent fraud and spam, and comply with law.
3. How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate (for example, hosting, CRM, telephony, email delivery, scheduling and analytics providers), under contracts that limit their use of it; when required by law; or as part of a business transfer such as a merger. We do not sell personal information for money.
We never sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except service providers that help us deliver the messages you asked for.
4. Retention
We keep personal information as long as needed for the purposes above, to meet legal obligations and to resolve disputes, then delete or de-identify it. Clients own their own call recordings and customer data processed through their Selican account.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Children's privacy
Our website and services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose and share.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Some uses of cookies, advertising pixels and visitor identification may be considered “sharing” under California law.
